Canceling is Easy
In the immortal words of Elaine Benes, breaking up is “one of the most important parts of a relationship.” I couldn’t agree more and was happy that my breakup with Bluehost went so smoothly.
However, a few things bothered me. I didn’t receive an email confirming my account cancellation. All I had to do was provide my case number and specifically request it. The refund was processed quickly, but I would have preferred if Bluehost had provided some official cancellation notification.
but There’s a Trap
The second thing that bothered me was the ownership verification. With just four characters of your password, anyone can cancel your account. They don’t even require your entire password! It would be better if Bluehost implemented a secure cancellation method through the account interface.
